Gautam has spent close to two decades in Strategy, Corporate Finance, Business Planning and Corporate Development in industry-leading organisations across sectors and geographies. Having worked with Unilever, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance and Prudential plc in India, Germany and the UK, he has a strong understanding of challenges faced by large and complex international businesses.
Gautam spent five years with Prudential plc at their London headquarters with particular emphasis on strategic planning for the whole group across the globe as well as drawing out the new market strategy for the group. He played a key role in rolling out operations in Ghana, which marked Prudential’s entry into Africa.
Gautam led the Corporate Finance and Strategy Management functions at ICICI Prudential Life, the largest private life insurer in India. He provided strategic direction and charted out the profitability roadmap of a rapidly growing but accounting-loss-making business. He designed and implemented cost management programs resulting in annualised cost savings of £50m+.
Gautam also has a diverse work experience with Unilever in India and Germany in Finance, Commercial Operations and Supply Chain roles. He was a part of the Business Leadership Trainee Program at Unilever. In addition, he helped set up the family business of stock broking on the National Stock Exchange in India in the 1990s.
Gautam holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (MBA) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from ICFAI. He is accredited as an Associate of the Institute for Independent Business (IIB) and serves as a partner on their accredited consulting practice (IIB ACP LLP).
